SaskParty maintains strong lead among decided voters in the upcoming provincial election.

For Immediate Release: October 14, 2020

A new independent poll conducted by Insightrix Research, Inc., shows the SaskParty maintains a sizable lead in the upcoming election.  Among decided voters, 54% plan to cast their ballot for the incumbent while 35% plan to vote for the Saskatchewan NDP.  The PCs, Greens and Liberals each earn four, three and two percent, respectively.  These findings largely align with historical polling conducted by Insightrix over the past several years.

As you may recall, the next provincial election will be held on October 26, 2020. If that election were held today, which party would you vote for? Base: Decided voters, n=638.

Demographic and regional differences also remain consistent to past polls with higher SaskParty voter intentions among: males, older ages groups and rural voters.  Both Regina and Saskatoon represent tighter races, with the NDP leading by three points in Regina (46% vs. 43%) and the SaskParty leading by four points in Saskatoon (47% vs. 43%).

Voters report the single most important issue in the upcoming election is supporting the economy. The next most common issues are mentioned by half as many residents and relate to: COVID-19 response in general, healthcare and education.

What do you believe should be the single most import issue in this upcoming election?  Base: All respondents, n=801.

When asked to select up to two specific issues from a list we prepared, similar priorities are noted with supporting local businesses, improving healthcare for seniors, implementing large-scale projects to spur economic activity and funding to support smaller class sizes topping the list.  Typical variances are noted across party lines.

Although there are many important issues to address, which of the following list of specific items do you believe should be the two most important issue to discuss in this provincial election? Base: All respondents, n=801.

Opinions of the provincial government response to COVID-19 is positive, although varies sharply across party lines.

How would you rate the performance of the provincial government in terms of their response to and management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the province? Base: All respondents, n=801.
